Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground pork
  • 3 stalks Green onions (finely chopped)
  • 2 tablespoons Soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame oil
  • 2 cloves Minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh ginger (finely grated)
  • 40 pieces Wonton wrappers
  • 8 cups Chicken broth
  • 2 heads Baby bok choy (chopped)
  • 2 medium Carrots (thinly sliced)
  • 1 tablespoon Soy sauce (for broth adjustment)
  • 0.5 teaspoon White pepper
  • 0 to taste Salt (to taste)
  • 2 stalks Chopped green onions (for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

In a mixing bowl, combine ground pork, finely chopped green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Mix well to make the wonton filling.

Step 2

Place a wonton wrapper on a clean surface. Add about 1 teaspoon of the pork filling to the center of the wrapper.

Step 3

Dip your finger in water and dampen the edges of the wrapper. Fold the wrapper into a triangular shape around the filling, pressing the edges together to seal.

Step 4

Bring the two bottom corners of the triangle together under the filling, dampen one, and press them together to form a wonton shape. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.

Step 5

In a large pot, bring the chicken broth to a boil over medium-high heat.

Step 6

Add the chopped baby bok choy and sliced carrots to the broth. Simmer for 5 minutes until slightly softened.

Step 7

Lower the heat to a gentle boil and carefully add the wontons to the soup. Cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the wontons float to the surface and are cooked through.

Step 8

Season the broth with additional soy sauce, white pepper, and salt as needed.

Step 9

Serve the wonton soup hot, garnished with chopped green onions.
