Ingredients

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cups milk
  • 0.5 cups ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 0.25 cups ketchup (for topping)
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar (for topping)
  • 1 teaspoon mustard (for topping)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, milk, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, beaten egg, salt, pepper, and parsley. Mix well using your hands or a large spoon until evenly combined.

Step 3

Transfer the meat mixture into the prepared loaf pan and press it down gently to form an even loaf shape.

Step 4

In a small bowl, mix together 1/4 cup ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard to make the topping glaze.

Step 5

Spread the glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf using a spoon or a small spatula.

Step 6

Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for 60 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the meatloaf reaches 160°F (70°C).

Step 7

Remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing to allow the juices to settle.

Step 8

Slice and serve warm with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes and green beans.
