Ingredients

  • 3 large ripe bananas
  • 200 grams granulated sugar
  • 115 grams unsalted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 250 grams all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 60 milliliters milk

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F) and grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.

Step 2

Peel the bananas and mash them in a large mixing bowl until smooth. Set aside.

Step 3

In a separate bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy using a hand mixer or stand mixer.

Step 4

Add the eggs, one at a time, to the butter and sugar mixture, beating well after each addition. Stir in the mashed bananas and vanilla extract.

Step 5

In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.

Step 6

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk. Begin and end with the dry ingredients, mixing just until combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Step 7

Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top with a spatula.

Step 8

Bake in the preheated oven for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.

Step 9

Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Step 10

Serve plain, or with a dollop of whipped cream or cream cheese frosting for extra indulgence.
