Ingredients

  • 200 g All-purpose flour
  • 100 g Unsalted butter (cold, cubed)
  • 50 g Powdered sugar
  • 1 Egg yolk
  • 2 tbsp Cold water
  • 100 g Mixed nuts (chopped, such as almonds, hazelnuts, walnuts)
  • 100 g Mixed dried fruits (such as raisins, apricots, figs, chopped)
  • 100 g Honey
  • 50 ml Heavy cream
  • 30 g Unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 1 pinch Salt

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).

Step 2

In a large bowl, combine the flour and powdered sugar. Add the cold, cubed butter and rub it into the flour mixture using your fingertips until it resembles breadcrumbs.

Step 3

Add the egg yolk and cold water to the mixture. Mix gently until it forms a dough. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 15 minutes.

Step 4

Roll out the chilled dough on a lightly floured surface and line a 23 cm (9-inch) tart pan with it. Trim any excess dough around the edges.

Step 5

Place a sheet of parchment paper over the tart shell and fill it with baking weights or dried beans. Bake the crust for 15 minutes, then remove the weights and bake for another 5 minutes until light golden brown. Set aside to cool.

Step 6

In a medium saucepan over low heat, combine the honey, heavy cream, butter, vanilla extract, and salt. Stir until the butter is melted and the mixture is smooth. Remove from heat.

Step 7

Stir the chopped nuts and dried fruits into the honey mixture until well coated.

Step 8

Pour the filling into the prepared tart shell, spreading it evenly with the back of a spoon.

Step 9

Bake the tart in the preheated oven for 10 minutes or until the filling is bubbly and slightly caramelized.

Step 10

Allow the tart to cool completely before serving. Slice into wedges and enjoy!
