Ingredients

  • 200 grams button mushrooms
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 pieces garlic cloves
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves

  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 slices sourdough bread
  • 100 grams grated cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon parsley (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Clean the mushrooms with a damp paper towel to remove dirt. Slice them thinly and set aside.

Step 2

Mince the garlic cloves and chop the parsley if using for garnish.

Step 3

Heat a skillet over medium heat and add 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.

Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet along with a teaspoon of fresh thyme leaves. Sauté for 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mushrooms are browned and softened.
