Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 1 tablespoon Olive oil
  • 300 grams White button mushrooms
  • 1 medium Yellow onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons All-purpose flour
  • 250 milliliters Milk
  • 50 milliliters Heavy cream
  • 50 grams Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoons Black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoons Nutmeg
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
  • 4 pieces Ramekins (individual baking dishes)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease 4 ramekins with butter or non-stick spray and set them aside.

Step 2

Heat the butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat until melted. Add the finely diced onion and sauté for 3–4 minutes until softened.

Step 3

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.

Step 4

Stir in the mushrooms and cook for 6–8 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mushrooms release their liquid and become golden brown.

Step 5

Sprinkle the flour evenly over the mushrooms. Stir well and cook for 1–2 minutes to eliminate the raw taste of the flour.

Step 6

Slowly add the milk while stirring continuously to form a smooth, creamy mixture. Cook for 3–4 minutes until the sauce begins to thicken.

Step 7

Reduce the heat and stir in the heavy cream and grated Parmesan cheese. Season the mixture with salt, black pepper, and nutmeg. Adjust seasonings to taste.

Step 8

Divide the filling evenly among the prepared ramekins. Place the ramekins on a baking tray for easy transfer to the oven.

Step 9

Bake in the preheated oven for 15–20 minutes, or until the tops are golden and bubbling.

Step 10

Garnish with fresh chopped parsley (optional) and serve warm. Enjoy!
