Season chicken breasts with 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper on both sides.
Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken breasts and sear for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove chicken and set aside.
In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add 1 tablespoon butter and the remaining olive oil.
Add minced garlic and diced onion. Sauté for 2-3 minutes until aromatic and onions are translucent.
