Ingredients

  • 500 g ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 medium carrot, grated
  • 1 medium zucchini, grated and excess liquid squeezed out
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tbsp BBQ sauce or tomato ketchup
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil, for frying

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, grated carrot, and grated zucchini.

Step 2

Add the breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, BBQ sauce (or tomato ketchup), salt, and black pepper to the bowl. Mix well using clean hands until all the ingredients are thoroughly combined.

Step 3

Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and shape each portion into a round, slightly flattened patty.

Step 4

Heat a large frying pan over medium heat and add the vegetable oil.

Step 5

Cook the rissoles in batches, frying for about 4–5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Avoid overcrowding the pan.

Step 6

Once cooked, transfer the rissoles to a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.

Step 7

Serve immediately with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, or a fresh salad.
