Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 0.5 pound Ground pork
  • 4 ounces Mozzarella cheese (cut into 1/2-inch cubes)
  • 0.5 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 0.25 cup Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large Egg
  • 2 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil (for frying)
  • 2 cups Marinara sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until well combined.

Step 2

Take about 2 tablespoons of the meat mixture and flatten it slightly in the palm of your hand.

Step 3

Place a mozzarella cube in the center of the meat and carefully wrap the meat around the cheese, rolling it into a ball. Ensure the cheese is completely enclosed. Repeat with the remaining meat mixture and mozzarella.

Step 4

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Step 5

Add the meatballs to the skillet in batches, if necessary, and cook until browned on all sides, about 2-3 minutes per side. Turn them carefully to avoid breaking them open.

Step 6

Once all the meatballs are browned, transfer them to a plate and set aside.

Step 7

In the same skillet, pour in the marinara sauce and bring it to a simmer over medium heat.

Step 8

Carefully place the browned meatballs into the simmering sauce. Cover the skillet and let them cook for 10-12 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and the mozzarella is melted inside.

Step 9

Remove the skillet from heat and garnish the meatballs with fresh parsley.

Step 10

Serve hot over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread on the side.
