Ingredients

  • 4 pieces salmon fillets (skin-on or skinless)
  • 2 tablespoons sumac
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)
  • 4 pieces lemon wedges (for serving)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup.

Step 2

In a small bowl, mix together the sumac, olive oil, minced garlic, honey, lemon juice, paprika, salt, and black pepper until evenly combined.

Step 3

Place the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet, skin-side down if using skin-on fillets.

Step 4

Brush the sumac marinade generously over the salmon fillets, making sure to coat the top and sides thoroughly.

Step 5

Allow the salmon to marinate for 5-10 minutes at room temperature while the oven finishes preheating.

Step 6

Bake the salmon in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. The internal temperature should reach 145°F (63°C).

Step 7

Optional: For extra color and flavor, switch the oven to broil during the last 2 minutes of cooking to slightly caramelize the marinade on top.

Step 8

Remove the salmon from the oven and let it rest for a minute or two.

Step 9

Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve with lemon wedges on the side for an extra pop of brightness.
