Ingredients

  • 500 grams ground pork
  • 1 medium carrot, finely grated
  • 100 grams green beans, finely chopped
  • 200 grams cabbage, finely chopped
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 25 pieces spring roll wrappers
  • 3 cups cooking oil, for frying
  • 1 large egg white, for sealing wrappers

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, grated carrot, chopped green beans, chopped cabbage, chopped onion, and minced garlic.

Step 2

Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until all the ingredients are well incorporated.

Step 3

Take one spring roll wrapper and lay it flat on a clean surface. Place about 1 to 2 tablespoons of the filling mixture on the wrapper, near one of the edges.

Step 4

Fold the bottom edge of the wrapper over the filling, then fold the two sides inward. Roll tightly upwards until it forms a compact log shape.

Step 5

Brush the top edge of the wrapper with a small amount of egg white to seal the lumpia. Repeat this process with the remaining filling and wrappers.

Step 6

In a deep frying pan, heat the cooking oil over medium heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). Test with a small piece of wrapper—it should sizzle immediately upon contact.

Step 7

Carefully place lumpia in the hot oil, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry in batches for 3 to 4 minutes, turning occasionally, until the lumpia are golden brown and crispy.

Step 8

Use a slotted spoon to remove the fried lumpia from the oil and transfer them to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.

Step 9

Serve hot with sweet chili sauce, vinegar with garlic, or your preferred dipping sauce. Enjoy!
