Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 1 packet Taco seasoning
  • 0.25 cup Water
  • 1 cup Shredded cheddar cheese
  • 2 cans Crescent roll dough
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 tablespoon Milk
  • 2 tablespoons Chopped fresh cilantro (optional)
  • 0 Sour cream (for serving, optional)
  • 0 Salsa (for serving, optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.

Step 3

Stir in the taco seasoning and 1/4 cup of water. Simmer for 2-3 minutes or until the mixture thickens.

Step 4

Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and combined. Set aside to cool slightly.

Step 5

Open the cans of crescent roll dough and separate them into individual triangles as per package instructions.

Step 6

Spoon 1-2 tablespoons of the taco beef mixture onto the wide end of each crescent roll triangle.

Step 7

Carefully roll up each triangle starting from the wide end, sealing the filling inside, and tuck in the edges as needed to create a puff shape.

Step 8

Place the taco puffs on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each puff to allow for expansion.

Step 9

In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and milk. Brush this mixture over the tops of the taco puffs to give them a golden, shiny finish.

Step 10

Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the puffs are golden brown and cooked through.

Step 11

Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped fresh cilantro if desired.

Step 12

Serve warm with sour cream and salsa on the side for dipping, if preferred.
