Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 0.5 pound Ground pork
  • 0.75 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 0.25 cup Milk
  • 1 large Egg
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 2 cups Marinara sauce

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, milk, egg, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix until thoroughly combined but do not overwork the mixture.

Step 2

Using your hands, form the mixture into meatballs about 1.5 inches in diameter. You should have around 16-18 meatballs.

Step 3

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the meatballs in a single layer, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Cook for 3-4 minutes on each side, until they are browned all over but not fully cooked through.

Step 4

Remove the browned meatballs from the skillet and set them aside on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.

Step 5

In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium-low and pour in the marinara sauce. Scrape up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan for added flavor.

Step 6

Return the meatballs to the skillet, nestling them into the sauce. Cover the skillet and let the meatballs simmer in the sauce for 15-20 minutes, or until they are fully cooked through (internal temperature of 165°F/74°C).

Step 7

Serve the meatballs hot, spooned over pasta, alongside crusty bread, or as a standalone dish garnished with extra parsley and Parmesan cheese if desired.
