Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Ground beef
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup Milk
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 medium Onion, finely chopped
  • 0.5 cup Ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Mustard
  • 0.25 cup Additional ketchup for glaze

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, eggs, chopped onion, 1/2 cup ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Use clean hands or a wooden spoon to mix until just combined. Do not overmix to avoid a dense meatloaf.

Step 3

Transfer the meat mixture into the prepared loaf pan, pressing it down lightly to form an even loaf shape.

Step 4

In a small bowl, prepare the glaze by mixing 1/4 cup additional ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard. Stir until smooth.

Step 5

Spread the glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf.

Step 6

Bake the meatloaf in the preheated oven for 60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) as measured with a meat thermometer.

Step 7

Allow the meatloaf to rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes or steamed vegetables.
