Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 0.5 cup breadcrumbs
  • 0.25 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 0.5 cup pineapple juice
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp water

Directions

Step 1

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until evenly combined.

Step 2

Using clean hands, shape the mixture into 1-inch meatballs and set aside.

Step 3

Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or sauté pan over medium heat.

Step 4

Add the meatballs to the skillet in a single layer, and cook for 6-8 minutes, turning occasionally, until browned on all sides. Remove the meatballs from the skillet and set aside.

Step 5

In the same skillet, combine ketchup, pineapple juice, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and brown sugar. Stir until the sauce is smooth.

Step 6

In a small bowl, mix cornstarch and water to create a slurry. Gradually add the slurry to the sauce while stirring, allowing it to thicken.

Step 7

Return the meatballs to the skillet and toss them in the sauce, ensuring they are fully coated.

Step 8

Reduce the heat to low, cover, and let the meatballs simmer in the sauce for 10-12 minutes, or until fully cooked through.

Step 9

Serve hot over steamed white rice, noodles, or as an appetizer. Enjoy!
