Ingredients

  • 4 pieces bone-in pork chops
  • 0.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoons salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 medium (sliced) onion
  • 2 cloves (minced) garlic
  • 0.5 cups ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.75 cups water

Directions

Step 1

In a shallow dish, combine the flour, salt, and pepper.

Step 2

Dredge the pork chops in the seasoned flour, coating them evenly on all sides. Shake off any excess flour.

Step 3

Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Step 4

Add the pork chops to the skillet and sear for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove the pork chops from the skillet and set aside.

Step 5

Reduce the heat to medium and add the sliced onion to the skillet. Sauté for 3–4 minutes until softened.

Step 6

Add the minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant.

Step 7

In a medium bowl, whisk together ketchup, brown sugar, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and water to make the sauce.

Step 8

Pour the sauce into the skillet with the onions and garlic. Stir well to combine.

Step 9

Return the pork chops to the skillet, nestling them into the sauce.

Step 10

Cover the skillet and let the pork chops simmer on low heat for 20–25 minutes, occasionally spooning sauce over the meat, until the pork chops are tender and fully cooked (internal temperature of 145°F/63°C).

Step 11

Serve the pork chops hot, topped with extra sauce from the skillet. Pair with rice, mashed potatoes, or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
