Ingredients

  • 1 piece Pie crust (unbaked, 9-inch)
  • 1.5 cups Pecans (halves or chopped)
  • 3 pieces Large eggs
  • 6 tablespoons Unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 cup Dark corn syrup
  • 0.75 cup Granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup Light brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 teaspoon Pure vanilla extract
  • 0.25 teaspoon Salt

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Step 2

Place the unbaked pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish and crimp the edges if desired. Set aside.

Step 3

Spread the pecans evenly in the bottom of the unbaked pie crust.

Step 4

In a medium mixing bowl, whisk the eggs until they are well beaten.

Step 5

Add the melted butter, dark corn syrup, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and salt to the eggs. Mix until everything is well combined.

Step 6

Pour the filling mixture over the pecans in the pie crust. The pecans will rise to the surface as you pour.

Step 7

Place the pie on a baking sheet to catch any spills, then transfer it to the preheated oven.

Step 8

Bake for 50-55 minutes, or until the pie filling is set and only slightly jiggles in the center when gently shaken.

Step 9

Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool completely on a wire rack before slicing. This will allow the filling to fully set.

Step 10

Serve at room temperature or slightly warmed, optionally with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. Enjoy!
