Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 cup Plain breadcrumbs
  • 0.75 cup Milk
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 medium Yellow onion, finely diced
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 0.5 cup Ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Dried parsley
  • 0.5 teaspoon Mustard powder
  • 2 tablespoons Optional garnish: chopped fresh parsley

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easier removal.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, eggs, diced onion, minced garlic, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, pepper, dried parsley, and mustard powder.

Step 3

Using clean hands, gently mix the ingredients together until just combined. Avoid overmixing to ensure a tender meatloaf.

Step 4

Transfer the meat mixture to the prepared loaf pan, pressing it gently to form an even shape. Smooth the top with the back of a spoon.

Step 5

Place the loaf pan on the middle rack of the preheated oven and bake for around 50 minutes.

Step 6

After 50 minutes, carefully remove the pan from the oven and spread an additional 2 to 3 tablespoons of ketchup over the top as a glaze, if desired.

Step 7

Return the meatloaf to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

Step 8

Remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest in the pan for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Step 9

Garnish with chopped fresh parsley, if desired, and enjoy with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes or roasted vegetables.
