Ingredients

  • 2 cups Chocolate wafer cookies (finely crushed)
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon Peppermint extract
  • 6 tablespoons Heavy cream
  • 1.5 cups Dark chocolate chips
  • 0.5 cup White chocolate chips (optional, for drizzle)
  • 0.25 cup Sprinkles or crushed peppermint candies (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the crushed chocolate wafer cookies, powdered sugar, and cocoa powder.

Step 2

Stir in the peppermint extract and heavy cream until the mixture comes together into a dough-like consistency. If the mixture feels too dry, add an extra tablespoon of heavy cream, one at a time, until the desired consistency is achieved.

Step 3

Using your hands or a small scoop, roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Step 4

Chill the mint balls in the refrigerator for 20-30 minutes, or until firm.

Step 5

While the mint balls are chilling, melt the dark chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second increments, stirring between each round, until smooth and fully melted.

Step 6

Remove the chilled mint balls from the refrigerator. Using a fork or dipping tool, coat each ball completely in the melted dark chocolate, shaking off any excess, and place them back on the parchment-lined baking sheet.

Step 7

If desired, melt the white chocolate chips and drizzle over the coated mint balls for decoration. Alternatively, sprinkle crushed peppermint candies or sprinkles on top while the chocolate coating is still wet.

Step 8

Allow the chocolate coating to set completely at room temperature or place the baking sheet in the refrigerator to speed up the process.

Step 9

Once the chocolate has hardened, transfer the mint balls to an airtight container and store in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
