Ingredients

  • 1 piece Pre-made pie crust (or homemade crust rolled out to fit a 9-inch pie dish)
  • 6 slices Bacon
  • 3 large Eggs
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 1 cup Whole milk
  • 1 cup Gruyère cheese, shredded
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.25 teaspoon Ground nutmeg

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

Place the pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish, pressing it gently to fit and trimming any excess dough. Poke the bottom with a fork to prevent bubbling.

Step 3

Partially bake the crust for 10 minutes, then remove and set aside to cool slightly.

Step 4

While the crust cools, cook the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crisp. Remove the bacon and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain, then chop into small pieces.

Step 5

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, and whole milk until smooth.

Step 6

Add the salt, black pepper, and nutmeg to the egg mixture, and stir well to combine.

Step 7

Sprinkle the bacon pieces evenly over the partially baked crust. Then sprinkle the shredded Gruyère cheese evenly on top of the bacon.

Step 8

Carefully pour the egg mixture over the bacon and cheese, filling the pie crust evenly.

Step 9

Place the quiche in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the custard is set and the top is golden brown. A knife inserted into the center should come out clean.

Step 10

Remove the quiche from the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Step 11

Serve warm or at room temperature. Enjoy your classic Quiche Lorraine!
