Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 0.75 cup Whole milk
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 cup Yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 0.5 cup Ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.75 teaspoon Ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Parsley, finely chopped
  • 0.5 cup Ketchup (for glaze)
  • 2 tablespoons Brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Apple cider vinegar

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet or loaf pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, eggs, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, Dijon mustard, salt, pepper, and parsley.

Step 3

Using clean hands, gently mix the ingredients until just combined. Avoid overmixing, which can make the meatloaf dense.

Step 4

Transfer the meat mixture to the prepared pan or shape it into a loaf on the baking sheet. Smooth the top and edges for even cooking.

Step 5

In a small bowl, whisk together the ketchup, brown sugar, and apple cider vinegar to make the glaze.

Step 6

Spread half of the glaze over the top of the meatloaf, reserving the other half for later.

Step 7

Bake the meatloaf in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.

Step 8

Remove the meatloaf from the oven and spread the remaining glaze evenly on top. Return it to the oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

Step 9

Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing. This helps retain juiciness and allows the flavors to settle.

Step 10

Slice, serve, and enjoy Mom's Famous Meatloaf with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes or green beans.
