Ingredients

  • 4 cups Canned navy beans
  • 6 slices Bacon
  • 1 medium, diced Onion
  • 1 cup Ketchup
  • 0.3333 cup Brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Molasses
  • 1.5 tablespoons Yellow mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Apple cider vinegar
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 cup Water

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

Step 2

In a large skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon from the skillet and set it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain. Once cooled, crumble the bacon into small pieces.

Step 3

In the same skillet, using the rendered bacon fat, sauté the diced onion over medium heat until it becomes translucent, about 5 minutes.

Step 4

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ketchup, brown sugar, molasses, yellow mustard, apple cider vinegar, black pepper, smoked paprika, salt, and water. Mix well to create the sauce.

Step 5

Add the sautéed onions to the sauce mixture and stir to combine.

Step 6

In a 9x13-inch baking dish, spread the canned navy beans evenly across the bottom. Pour the sauce mixture over the beans, ensuring all the beans are coated.

Step 7

Sprinkle the crumbled bacon over the top of the beans.

Step 8

Place the baking dish in the preheated oven and bake uncovered for 1.5 hours, stirring occasionally to ensure the flavors meld together.

Step 9

Remove the baked beans from the oven and let them rest for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy this delicious dish as a side to your favorite meal!
