Ingredients

  • 3 pounds Pork baby back ribs
  • 2 cups Barbecue sauce
  • 0.25 cups Brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoons Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoons Smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoons Black pepper
  • 1 spray Non-stick cooking spray

Directions

Step 1

Spray the inside of your crock pot with non-stick cooking spray to make cleanup easier.

Step 2

Remove the membrane from the back of the baby back ribs if not already removed. This helps make the ribs more tender.

Step 3

Cut the ribs into 3-4 rib sections to allow them to fit easily into the crock pot.

Step 4

In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.

Step 5

Rub the spice mixture generously all over both sides of the rib sections.

Step 6

Layer the rib sections in the crock pot, meat side facing up. Do not overcrowd the pot; layer them as evenly as possible.

Step 7

Pour the barbecue sauce over the ribs, making sure all the meat is well-coated. Reserve an extra 1/4 cup of sauce for later if desired.

Step 8

Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or on high for 4-5 hours, or until the ribs are tender and easily pull apart with a fork.

Step 9

If you prefer a caramelized finish, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) during the last 10 minutes of cooking. Place the ribs on a foil-lined baking sheet, brush with additional barbecue sauce, and bake for 7-10 minutes.

Step 10

Serve the ribs warm with your favorite sides, such as coleslaw, cornbread, or baked beans.
