Ingredients

  • 4 cups All-purpose flour
  • 2.25 teaspoons Active dry yeast
  • 0.25 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.25 cup Unsalted butter
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 0.25 cup Water
  • 2 units Large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons Melted butter (for brushing)

Directions

Step 1

In a small saucepan, combine the milk, water, and unsalted butter. Heat over low heat until the butter is completely melted and the mixture is warm to the touch (about 110°F). Do not allow it to boil.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, sugar, salt, and yeast. Mix well.

Step 3

Gradually add the warm milk mixture to the dry ingredients. Mix until combined, then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.

Step 4

Add the remaining 2 cups of flour, about 1/2 cup at a time, mixing until the dough becomes soft and slightly sticky. If the dough is too sticky, add an additional tablespoon of flour at a time, but avoid making it too dry.

Step 5

Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes, or until it becomes smooth and elastic.

Step 6

Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.

Step 7

Punch down the dough to release air bubbles. Divide it into 12 equal pieces and shape each piece into a ball.

Step 8

Place the dough balls in a greased 9x13-inch baking pan, evenly spaced. Cover and let rise again for 30-40 minutes, or until doubled in size.

Step 9

While the rolls are rising, preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 10

Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.

Step 11

Remove the rolls from the oven and immediately brush the tops with melted butter for a soft and glossy finish.

Step 12

Serve warm and enjoy!
