Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Ground brisket
  • 1 medium Yellow onion
  • 2 large Garlic cloves
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 4 slices Cheddar cheese slices
  • 4 pieces Burger buns
  • 4 leaves Lettuce
  • 4 slices Tomato slices
  • 8 chips Pickles
  • 4 tablespoons Ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons Mustard

Directions

Step 1

Finely dice the yellow onion and grate or mince the garlic cloves.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground brisket, diced onion, garlic, egg, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, and paprika. Mix gently but thoroughly until ingredients are evenly distributed.

Step 3

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape each into a patty about ¾ inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty with your thumb to prevent the burgers from puffing up while cooking.

Step 4

Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grill grates to prevent sticking.

Step 5

Place the patties on the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes on the first side without pressing down on them.

Step 6

Flip the patties and cook for another 3-4 minutes, then add a slice of cheddar cheese to each patty. Cover the grill (or use a lid if using a grill pan) and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the burgers are cooked to your desired doneness (160°F for medium).

Step 7

While the burgers are cooking, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

Step 8

Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom half of each bun, followed by a cooked brisket patty, tomato slice, pickle chips, ketchup, and mustard. Top with the other half of the bun.

Step 9

Serve immediately with your favorite side dishes like fries, coleslaw, or a fresh salad.
