Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Ground beef (80% lean)
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs (plain or seasoned)
  • 0.75 cup Milk
  • 2 pieces Large eggs
  • 1 small Yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 0.5 cup Ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Parsley, chopped (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons Brown sugar (for glaze)
  • 0.25 cup Ketchup (for glaze)
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (for glaze)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9x5-inch loaf pan.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, eggs, chopped onion, minced garlic, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, and parsley (if using).

Step 3

Use your hands or a large spoon to mix all ingredients thoroughly until well combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the meatloaf dense.

Step 4

Transfer the mixture to the prepared loaf pan and gently press it down to form an even loaf shape.

Step 5

In a small bowl, whisk together brown sugar, ketchup, and Dijon mustard for the glaze. Spread the glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf.

Step 6

Place the loaf pan in the preheated oven and bake for 60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).

Step 7

Remove the meatloaf from the oven and let it rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Step 8

Serve warm with mashed potatoes and your favorite vegetables, or store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
