Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs Ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 0.5 cups Light beer
  • 0.5 cups Yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 0.5 tsp Smoked paprika
  • 4 Burger buns
  • 4 Cheese slices (optional)
  • 1 set Lettuce, tomato, and other desired toppings

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, beer, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, and smoked paprika. Mix gently with your hands, being careful not to overwork the meat.

Step 2

Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions. Shape each portion into a burger patty approximately ¾ inch thick, making a small indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Step 3

Preheat a grill or stovetop skillet over medium-high heat. Lightly oil the grill grates or skillet to prevent sticking.

Step 4

Cook the patties for 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare or longer based on your preferred level of doneness. Flip carefully to keep the patties intact.

Step 5

If using cheese, place a slice on each patty during the last minute of cooking to allow it to melt.

Step 6

Toast the burger buns on the grill or skillet for 1-2 minutes until golden brown, if desired.

Step 7

Assemble the burgers by placing the cooked patties on the bottom buns, then layering with lettuce, tomato, and any other toppings of your choice. Cover with the top buns.

Step 8

Serve immediately with your favorite sides, such as fries, potato salad, or coleslaw. Enjoy!
