  • 1 cup All-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder

  • 1 whole Egg, large
  • 1.25 cups Buttermilk
  • 0.5 cup Unsulphured molasses
  • 0.25 cup Vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup Raisins (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a 12-cup muffin tin with paper liners or grease it lightly.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the wheat bran, all-purpose flour, brown sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Stir well to evenly distribute the dry ingredients.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the egg, buttermilk, molasses, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until smooth.
