  • 0.75 cup Granulated sugar
  • 0.75 cup Applesauce (unsweetened preferred)
  • 0.25 cup Vegetable oil
  • 1 Large egg
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8x8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.

Step 2

In a medium-sized mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined. Set aside.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, whisk the granulated sugar, applesauce, vegetable oil, egg, and vanilla extract until smooth and fully incorporated.
