Ingredients

  • 250 grams all-purpose flour
  • 30 grams unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 150 grams granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 170 grams unsalted butter (cold, cubed)
  • 1 large egg
  • 200 grams dark chocolate (chopped)
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 teaspoons instant coffee granules
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x9-inch baking dish with parchment paper, allowing some overhang for easy removal.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.

Step 3

Add the cold cubed butter to the dry ingredients and use a pastry cutter or your fingers to work it in until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Beat the egg lightly in a small bowl and add it to the mixture. Mix gently until the dough comes together. Reserve 1/3 of the dough for the crumble topping.
