Ingredients

  • 1 cup, packed Fresh cilantro
  • 0.5 cup, packed Fresh mint leaves
  • 1 large Green chili
  • 2 medium Garlic cloves
  • 1 inch piece, peeled Fresh ginger
  • 2 tablespoons Lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon Granulated sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Water
  • 1 medium Tomato

Directions

Step 1

Rinse the cilantro and mint thoroughly under cold water to remove any dirt or grit, then pat them dry with a clean towel. Discard any thick stems.

Step 2

Chop the green chili, garlic cloves, and peeled ginger into smaller pieces for easier blending.

Step 3

Cut the tomato into quarters and remove the tough stem area, if needed.

Step 4

Add the cilantro, mint leaves, green chili, garlic, ginger, and tomato to a food processor or blender.

Step 5

Pour in the lime juice and water, then add the sugar and salt.

Step 6

Blend the mixture until it reaches your desired consistency. For a smoother chutney, blend longer. For a chunkier texture, pulse until just combined.

Step 7

Taste and adjust seasoning, adding more lime juice or salt if needed.

Step 8

Transfer the chutney into a clean jar or bowl, and serve immediately or chill in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
