Ingredients

  • 1 cup (tightly packed) Fresh mint leaves
  • 1 cup Water
  • 1 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 piece Green tea bag

Directions

Step 1

Rinse the fresh mint leaves thoroughly under cool water and set aside.

Step 2

In a medium-sized saucepan, combine the water and granulated sugar.

Step 3

Place the saucepan over medium heat and stir occasionally until the sugar fully dissolves, forming a clear syrup (2-3 minutes).

Step 4

Once the sugar has dissolved, add the fresh mint leaves and green tea bag to the saucepan.

Step 5

Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer gently for 5-7 minutes. Stir occasionally to help infuse the flavors.

Step 6

Remove the saucepan from heat and allow the syrup to cool for 10 minutes. This will deepen the mint and tea flavor.

Step 7

Strain the syrup through a fine mesh sieve into a clean container or jar, discarding the mint leaves and tea bag.

Step 8

Let the syrup cool completely to room temperature, then seal the jar and store it in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

Step 9

Use Mint Tea Syrup to sweeten iced tea, craft refreshing cocktails, or drizzle over yogurt, fruit, or desserts for a minty twist.
