Ingredients

  • 8 oz Angel hair pasta
  • 12 pieces Large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 tbsp Unsalted butter
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil
  • 4 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 0.25 cup Dry white wine (optional, can substitute chicken broth)
  • 2 tbsp Fresh lemon juice
  • 0.25 tsp Red pepper flakes
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 0.25 tsp Black pepper
  • 2 tbsp Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 2 tbsp Grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the angel hair pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/4 cup of the pasta water, then drain the pasta and set aside.

Step 2

In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of butter and 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat until the butter has melted.

Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.

Stir in the red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper.

Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

Deglaze the skillet with the white wine, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom. Cook for 1-2 minutes to let the alcohol evaporate.

Stir in the fresh lemon juice and the reserved pasta water, then return the shrimp to the skillet. Simmer for 1-2 minutes to incorporate flavors.

Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the remaining tablespoon of butter and 1 tablespoon of chopped parsley.
