Ingredients

  • 3.5 cups All-purpose flour
  • 0.25 cups Granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoons Salt
  • 2.25 teaspoons Active dry yeast
  • 1 cups Warm milk (110°F/43°C)
  • 0.25 cups Unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large Egg
  • 2 tablespoons Unsalted butter, softened, for brushing

Directions

Step 1

In a small bowl, combine the warm milk and granulated sugar. Sprinkle the yeast over the top and let it sit for 5-10 minutes until it becomes foamy.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Add the melted butter, egg, and the yeast mixture. Mix until a rough dough forms.

Step 3

Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. Alternatively, you can use a stand mixer with a dough hook for 5-6 minutes.

Step 4

Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it with plastic wrap or a damp towel, and let it rise in a warm spot for 1-2 hours, or until it has doubled in size.

Step 5

Once risen, punch the dough down to release any air bubbles. Divide the dough into 12 equal pieces and shape each piece into a smooth ball.

Step 6

Arrange the dough balls in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish, leaving a little space between them for expansion. Cover the dish and let the rolls rise in a warm spot for another 30-40 minutes until they are puffy.

Step 7

While the rolls are rising, preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 8

Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.

Step 9

Remove the rolls from the oven and immediately brush the tops with softened butter for a shiny, buttery finish.

Step 10

Serve warm and enjoy these soft, buttery Mimi’s Rolls!
