Ingredients

  • 1 piece Pre-made pie crust (unbaked, 9-inch)
  • 1.5 cups Pecans (halved)
  • 1 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 0.5 cup Granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup Light brown sugar
  • 0.75 cup Light corn syrup
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted butter (melted)
  • 3 pieces Eggs (large)
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup Heavy cream
  • 0.5 cup Caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 0.25 teaspoon Sea salt (optional, for garnish)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Step 2

Place the pre-made pie crust in a 9-inch pie dish. Lightly press it into the dish and crimp or trim the edges as desired.

Step 3

Scatter the pecan halves evenly over the bottom of the pie crust. Sprinkle the chocolate chips on top of the pecans.

Step 4

In a medium bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, light brown sugar, light corn syrup, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth and well combined.

Step 5

Pour the sugar mixture over the pecans and chocolate chips, ensuring everything is evenly covered.

Step 6

Transfer the pie to the middle oven rack and bake for 50-55 minutes, or until the filling is set but still slightly jiggly in the center.

Step 7

Remove the pie from the oven and allow it to cool completely at room temperature.

Step 8

In a small saucepan over low heat, warm the heavy cream until just simmering. Remove from heat and stir in the caramel sauce until fully combined.

Step 9

Once the pie has cooled, drizzle the caramel mixture over the entire top of the pie. If desired, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top for a sweet-and-salty finish.

Step 10

Let the caramel set for 10-15 minutes before slicing and serving. Serve on its own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
