Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 8 pieces flour tortillas
  • 2 cups chopped lettuce
  • 1 cup diced tomatoes
  • 0.5 cup sour cream
  • 2 teaspoons hot sauce (optional)

Directions

Step 1

In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned and fully cooked, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Drain excess grease, if necessary.

Step 2

Add the taco seasoning packet and water to the cooked beef, mixing well. Let it simmer for 5 minutes until the flavors are well combined and the mixture thickens slightly.

Step 3

Reduce the heat to low and add in the cream cheese. Stir until the cream cheese has melted and blended into the beef mixture, creating a creamy texture.

Step 4

Sprinkle in half of the shredded cheddar cheese (1/2 cup) and stir until melted. Remove the skillet from heat.

Step 5

Warm the flour tortillas by lightly heating them in a dry skillet or wrapping them in foil and placing them in a preheated oven at 350°F for 5-7 minutes.

Step 6

Assemble the tacos by spooning some of the creamy beef mixture onto the center of each tortilla.

Step 7

Top each taco with chopped lettuce and diced tomatoes, then sprinkle with the remaining shredded cheddar cheese.

Step 8

Finish with a dollop of sour cream and a drizzle of hot sauce, if desired. Serve immediately and enjoy!
