Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground beef (80% lean)
  • 0.5 lb Ground pork
  • 0.75 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup Parmesan cheese (grated)
  • 0.25 cup Milk
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 3 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 0.25 cup Fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 1 tsp Dried oregano
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil (for frying)
  • 3 cups Marinara sauce

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, milk, eggs, minced garlic, parsley, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly using your hands until all ingredients are evenly incorporated.

Step 2

Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1 1/2 inches in diameter. You should end up with approximately 16–18 meatballs.

Step 3

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Brown the meatballs on all sides, turning occasionally, for about 5–7 minutes per batch.

Step 4

Once the meatballs are browned, remove any excess oil from the skillet and add the marinara sauce. Reduce the heat to low and gently place the browned meatballs into the sauce.

Step 5

Cover the skillet with a lid and simmer the meatballs in the marinara sauce for 20–25 minutes, or until they are fully cooked through and reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).

Step 6

Serve the meatballs hot, either over a bed of cooked pasta, alongside crusty Italian bread, or as a standalone dish. Optionally, garnish with extra grated Parmesan cheese and parsley.
