Ingredients

  • 3 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Rolled oats
  • 2.25 teaspoons Active dry yeast
  • 1 cup Warm milk (about 110°F or 43°C)
  • 3 tablespoons Honey
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large Egg
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 cup Warm water (about 110°F or 43°C)

Directions

Step 1

In a small bowl, combine the warm water and active dry yeast. Let it sit for 5-7 minutes until foamy.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, rolled oats, salt, and ground cinnamon. Mix well.

Step 3

In a separate bowl, whisk together the warm milk, honey, melted butter, and egg.

Step 4

Pour the yeast mixture and the wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.

Step 5

Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 8-10 minutes, or until the dough is smooth and elastic.

Step 6

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let rise in a warm spot for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Step 7

Once risen, punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place the dough in a greased 9x5-inch loaf pan.

Step 8

Cover the loaf pan with the kitchen towel and let the dough rise again for 30 minutes, or until it rises slightly above the edge of the pan.

Step 9

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 10

Bake the bread in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the bread sounds hollow when tapped.

Step 11

Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
