Ingredients

  • 1 pound Ground beef
  • 0.5 pound Chorizo (Mexican sausage), casing removed
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 4 slices Pepper Jack cheese slices
  • 4 Burger buns
  • 0.5 cup Guacamole
  • 0.5 cup Fresh salsa (pico de gallo)
  • 2 Jalapeño peppers, sliced
  • 4 Lettuce leaves
  • 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, chorizo, minced garlic, ground cumin, paprika, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until the ingredients are evenly distributed.

Step 2

Divide the meat mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties, about 1-inch thick.

Step 3

Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Lightly grease the surface with the vegetable oil.

Step 4

Cook the burger patties for 4-5 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired doneness. During the last minute of cooking, place a slice of Pepper Jack cheese on each patty to melt.

Step 5

Lightly toast the burger buns on the grill or skillet for about 1-2 minutes until golden brown.

Step 6

Assemble the burgers: Spread a layer of guacamole on the bottom half of each bun. Place a lettuce leaf over the guacamole, followed by the cooked burger patty with melted cheese.

Step 7

Top the patty with fresh salsa (pico de gallo) and a few sliced jalapeño peppers for an extra kick.

Step 8

Cover with the top half of the bun and serve immediately. Enjoy your Mexican Burgers with a side of fries or tortilla chips!
