Ingredients

  • 2 cans (6.5 oz each) Canned chopped clams (with juice)
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 3 Garlic cloves (minced)
  • 3 cups Plain breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 1 teaspoon Dried oregano
  • 1 cup Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh lemon juice
  • 3 tablespoons Olive oil
  • 0.5 teaspoons Crushed red pepper flakes
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoons Black pepper
  • 4 pieces Lemon wedges (for serving)
  • 1 batch Crackers or sliced baguette (optional, for serving)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2

Melt the butter in a medium skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.

Step 3

Drain the canned clams, reserving the juice in a separate bowl. Add the chopped clams to the skillet and stir for 1-2 minutes to combine with the garlic.

Step 4

In a large mixing bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, chopped parsley, dried oregano, grated Parmesan cheese, crushed red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper.

Step 5

Add the cooked clams and garlic mixture to the bread crumb mixture. Stir in the reserved clam juice, olive oil, and fresh lemon juice. Mix until the texture is moist but crumbly.

Step 6

Transfer the mixture to a shallow baking dish, spreading it out evenly.

Step 7

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and crispy.

Step 8

Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Step 9

Serve warm with lemon wedges on the side and crackers or sliced baguette for scooping, if desired.
