Ingredients

  • 2.25 teaspoons Active dry yeast
  • 0.25 cups Warm water (110°F-115°F)
  • 0.5 cups Granulated sugar
  • 1 cups Whole milk
  • 0.33 cups Unsalted butter (melted)
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 4 cups All-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons Butter (for brushing, melted)

Directions

Step 1

In a small bowl, dissolve the active dry yeast in the warm water. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.

Step 2

In a medium saucepan, heat the milk until warm but not boiling. Remove from heat and stir in the sugar until dissolved. Let the mixture cool slightly.

Step 3

In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, eggs, salt, and the milk-sugar mixture. Mix well.

Step 4

Add the yeast mixture to the wet ingredients and stir to combine.

Step 5

Gradually add the flour, one cup at a time, mixing until a soft dough forms. The dough should be slightly sticky but manageable.

Step 6

Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Step 7

Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap or a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm area for 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.

Step 8

Punch down the dough and turn it out onto a floured surface. Divide it into 12 equal pieces and shape each piece into a smooth ball.

Step 9

Arrange the dough balls in a greased 9x13-inch baking dish or pan, leaving a little space between each roll for rising.

Step 10

Cover the pan with plastic wrap or a kitchen towel and let the rolls rise for another 45-60 minutes, or until doubled in size.

Step 11

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown on top.

Step 12

Remove the rolls from the oven and immediately brush them with the melted butter for a soft, shiny finish.

Step 13

Serve warm and enjoy!
