Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Ground beef
  • 1 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 0.5 cup Milk
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 medium, finely chopped Onion
  • 0.25 cup Ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 0.5 cup Ketchup (for topping)

Directions

Step 1

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease a loaf pan.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcrumbs, milk, eggs, chopped onion, 1/4 cup of ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix everything together until well combined, but be careful not to overmix to avoid a dense texture.

Step 3

Shape the meat mixture into a loaf and place it on the prepared baking sheet or press it evenly into the loaf pan.

Step 4

Spread the remaining 1/2 cup of ketchup evenly over the top of the meatloaf to create a glaze.

Step 5

Bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) when tested with a meat thermometer.

Step 6

Once cooked, let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving. This helps retain the juices and makes it easier to cut clean slices.

Step 7

Serve warm with your favorite sides, such as mashed potatoes and green beans. Enjoy!
