Ingredients

  • 4 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Whole milk
  • 0.25 cup Granulated sugar
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted butter
  • 2.25 teaspoons Active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 Large eggs
  • 0.25 cup Water

Directions

Step 1

Warm the milk in a small saucepan over low heat until it is just warm to the touch (about 100°F or 38°C). Remove from heat and stir in the sugar. Sprinkle the yeast over the milk and let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.

Step 2

In a large mixing bowl, combine 3 cups of the flour and the salt. Mix well.

Step 3

In a microwave-safe bowl or a small saucepan, melt the butter. Let it cool slightly.

Step 4

Beat the eggs in a separate bowl. Add the melted butter, the frothy yeast mixture, and the water to the eggs. Mix well.

Step 5

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir until combined, then gradually add the remaining 1 cup of flour while kneading the dough. The dough should be soft and slightly sticky but pull away from the sides of the bowl.

Step 6

Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Step 7

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel or plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Step 8

Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal portions. Shape each portion into a smooth ball and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet, ensuring some space between each bun.

Step 9

Cover the buns loosely with a clean kitchen towel and let them rise again for 30 minutes.

Step 10

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 11

Bake the buns in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until golden brown on top.

Step 12

Remove the buns from the oven and transfer them to a wire rack to cool slightly before serving.
