Ingredients

  • 200 grams Dark chocolate (70% cocoa or higher)
  • 2 tablespoons Extra virgin olive oil
  • 50 grams Almonds, chopped
  • 50 grams Dried apricots, diced
  • 30 grams Pistachios, chopped
  • 1 pinch Sea salt

Directions

Step 1

1. Begin by chopping the dark chocolate into small pieces to ensure even melting.

Step 2

2. Place the chopped chocolate in a heatproof bowl and set it over a saucepan of simmering water (double boiler method). Stir gently until completely melted.

Step 3

3. Once melted, remove the bowl from heat and stir in the extra virgin olive oil until completely incorporated.

Step 4

4. Add the chopped almonds, diced dried apricots, and chopped pistachios into the chocolate mixture. Mix until all the ingredients are evenly distributed.

Step 6

6. Lightly sprinkle a pinch of sea salt over the top of each chocolate egg for added flavor contrast.

Step 7

7. Place the mold or baking sheet in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes or until the chocolate has set completely.

Step 8

Step 10

10. Enjoy your Mediterranean Diet Homemade Chocolate Eggs as a healthy dessert or snack!
