Ingredients

  • 8 cups water
  • 4 pieces black tea bags
  • 1 cup fresh mint leaves
  • 1 large lemon
  • 0.25 cup honey
  • 2 cups ice cubes

Directions

Step 1

In a large saucepan, bring 8 cups of water to a boil.

Once boiling, remove the saucepan from heat and add the 4 black tea bags.

Allow the tea bags to steep in the hot water for about 5-7 minutes, depending on how strong you prefer your tea.

While the tea is steeping, thoroughly rinse 1 cup of fresh mint leaves and slice 1 large lemon into thin rounds.

After the tea has steeped, remove the tea bags using a spoon or tongs, and add the 1 cup of fresh mint leaves to the hot tea.

Cover the saucepan and let the mint steep for an additional 5 minutes to impart its flavor.

Strain the tea into a pitcher to remove the mint leaves. Add 0.25 cups of honey to the warm tea and stir until fully dissolved. Adjust sweetness to taste.

Add the lemon slices to the pitcher and cool the tea to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours to chill.
