Ingredients

  • 500 g Lean ground turkey
  • 0.5 Red onion, finely chopped
  • 2 Garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp Fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tsp Dried oregano
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 0.25 tsp Black pepper
  • 50 g Feta cheese, crumbled
  • 4 Whole wheat burger buns
  • 1 Tomato, sliced
  • 0.5 Cucumber, sliced
  • 100 g Arugula leaves
  • 120 ml Tzatziki sauce
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, finely chopped red onion, minced garlic, chopped fresh parsley, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly using your hands or a spoon until well integrated.

Step 2

Gently fold in the crumbled feta cheese into the turkey mixture, making sure it's evenly distributed.

Step 3

Shape the mixture into four equal-sized patties, approximately 1.5 cm thick. Make a small indent in the center of each patty to prevent them from puffing up during cooking.

Step 4

In a large skillet or grill pan, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat.

Place the patties in the skillet or on the grill pan, and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until the internal temperature reaches 75°C, ensuring they are fully cooked through and golden brown on both sides.

While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the whole wheat burger buns on a separate section of the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

To assemble the burgers, spread a generous tablespoon of tzatziki sauce on the bottom half of each bun.

Place a turkey patty on top of the tzatziki, then layer with slices of tomato, cucumber, and a handful of arugula.

Finish with another tablespoon of tzatziki sauce on the top half of the buns before placing it over the arugula.
