Ingredients

  • 500 grams cherry tomatoes
  • 250 grams fresh mozzarella balls
  • 15 grams fresh basil leaves
  • 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper

Directions

Step 1

Rinse the cherry tomatoes under cold running water and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel. Slice each tomato in half and place into a large mixing bowl.

Step 2

Drain any liquid from the mozzarella balls and add them to the bowl with the halved cherry tomatoes.

Step 3

Gently rinse the fresh basil leaves, pat them dry, and tear them by hand into smaller pieces. Add the torn basil leaves to the cherry tomatoes and mozzarella.

Step 4

In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the extra-virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

Step 5

Pour the olive oil and balsamic vinegar dressing over the salad ingredients. Gently toss everything together using a large spoon, ensuring the tomatoes and mozzarella are evenly coated with the dressing.

Step 6

Taste the salad and adjust the seasoning with additional salt or pepper if necessary.

Step 7

Let the salad marinate for at least 5 minutes at room temperature before serving to allow the flavors to meld together.

Step 8

Transfer the salad to a serving platter or individual plates and serve immediately as an appetizer or a refreshing side.
