Ingredients

  • 500 grams lean ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 medium, finely chopped red onion
  • 2 minced garlic cloves
  • 0.5 cup, chopped fresh parsley
  • 0.25 cup, chopped fresh mint
  • 1 cup whole wheat bread crumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 0.5 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon, chopped fresh dill

Directions

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 200°C (390°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped red onion and sauté for about 5 minutes, until soft and translucent. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, cooked onion and garlic, chopped parsley, chopped mint, whole wheat bread crumbs, egg, salt, black pepper, ground cumin, paprika, and lemon zest.
