Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground beef (80% lean)
  • 0.5 lb Ground pork
  • 0.5 cup Bread crumbs
  • 0.25 cup Grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 unit Large egg
  • 0.25 cup Milk
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp Fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Dried oregano
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 0.5 tsp Black pepper
  • 2 tbsp Olive oil

Directions

Step 1

In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, milk, minced garlic, parsley, oregano, salt, and black pepper.

Step 2

Mix the ingredients together gently with your hands or a spatula until just combined. Avoid over-mixing to keep the meatballs tender.

Step 3

Use a tablespoon or small ice cream scoop to portion out the mixture, and roll it into golf ball-sized meatballs, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter. You should have approximately 18-20 meatballs.

Step 4

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

Step 5

Working in batches if necessary, add the meatballs to the skillet. Brown the meatballs on all sides, turning occasionally with tongs, about 6-8 minutes total. Do not overcrowd the pan.

Step 6

Once browned, transfer the meatballs to a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil. If serving with spaghetti and marinara sauce, add the meatballs to the sauce and simmer for an additional 10 minutes until fully cooked through.

Step 7

Alternatively, if making sandwiches, place the meatballs on a toasted sub roll with marinara sauce and melted mozzarella cheese.

Step 8

Serve hot and enjoy!
