Ingredients

  • 4 pieces Large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons Milk
  • 0.5 teaspoons Salt
  • 0.25 teaspoons Ground black pepper
  • 4 ounces Breakfast sausage (crumbled)
  • 0.25 cups Diced onion
  • 2 tablespoons Diced green chilies (canned)
  • 0.5 cups Shredded cheddar cheese
  • 4 pieces Flour tortillas (8-inch)
  • 0 optional Salsa (optional)

Directions

Step 1

In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and black pepper until well combined. Set aside.

Step 2

In a large non-stick skillet, cook the crumbled breakfast sausage over medium heat until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the sausage from the skillet and drain on a paper towel-lined plate.

Step 3

Using the same skillet, sauté the diced onions on medium heat until softened, about 2-3 minutes. Add the diced green chilies and stir to combine. Remove from heat and set aside.

Step 4

Wipe out the skillet and reduce heat to low. Pour the egg mixture into the skillet and gently cook, stirring frequently, until the eggs are softly scrambled, about 3-5 minutes. Avoid overcooking.

Step 5

Return the cooked sausage and sautéed onions with chilies to the skillet with the eggs. Stir gently to combine.

Step 6

Warm the flour tortillas in a microwave or on a skillet for a few seconds until pliable.

Step 7

On each tortilla, place an equal portion of the egg and sausage mixture. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top.

Step 8

Fold in the sides of each tortilla, then roll tightly from one end to the other to form a burrito.

Step 9

Optional: Serve with salsa on the side or spoon a small amount inside each burrito before rolling.

Step 10

Enjoy your homemade McDonald's-style Egg Burrito while warm!
